About the speaker:
Russell Belk is a Distinguished Research Professor at York University and Chair in Marketing at Kraft Foods Canada. He has received the Paul D. Converse Award, two Fulbright Awards, and the Sheth Foundation/Journal of Consumer Research Award for Long Term Contribution to Consumer Research. He has over 650 publications and together with colleagues he initiated the Consumer Behavior Odyssey, the Association for Consumer Research Film Festival, and the Consumer Culture Theory Conference. His research involves the meanings of possessions, collecting, gift-giving, sharing, and materialism. His work is often cultural, visual, qualitative, and interpretive.
